Last month, Tahoe Forest Health System was awarded $2.4 million in funding from the California Department in Health Care Services (DHCS) and their Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program (BHCIP)! DHCS supports vital services that reinforce the overall health and well-being of all Californians; specifically, BHCIP funds help construct, acquire, and expand properties that support behavioral health programs. In conjunction with our CA Bridge Grant (detailed in our next article), TFHS will have the ability to greatly increase access to behavioral health services for those in our surrounding communities!
BHCIP represents the largest provision of resources for behavioral health
and social services infrastructure in the state’s history, and provides an opportunity to address gaps in behavioral health and long-term care continuums. In the coming months, you will hear more about the ways in
which TFHS will work closely with DHCS to enlarge and enhance our current clinical space. This will give our providers the opportunity to expand behavioral health services for those in our rapidly growing population.
