The Tahoe Forest Outpatient Infusion Center offers excellence in infusion and injection therapy close to home with registered nurses who are experts in intravenous (vein), intramuscular (muscle) and subcutaneous (fatty tissue) treatments. Our nurses learn about your medical journey and provide friendly and personalized care.
The Outpatient Infusion Center treats adult and pediatric patients referred from primary care as well as specialties, including:
- Endocrinology
- Gastroenterology
- Hematology
- Neurology
- Ophthalmology
*Please note: Tahoe Forest’s Kise Family Oncology Infusion Center is a separate location that treats adult patients of the Gene Upshaw Cancer Center receiving chemotherapy or immunotherapy for a cancer diagnosis.
Conditions and diseases treated at the Outpatient Infusion Center include:
- Anemia
- Asthma
- Autoimmune disorders
- Bloodstream and bone infections
- Coagulation disorders
- Chron’s disease and ulcerative colitis
- Hemachromatosis
- Hyperemesis gravidarum (intractable vomiting during pregnancy)
- Migraines
- Multiple sclerosis
- Osteoporosis
- Rabies exposure
- Rheumatoid arthritis
Treatments and procedures include:
- Antibiotic therapy
- Bisphosphonate therapy
- Blood product transfusion
- Central line blood draws, dressing change and maintenance
- Electrolyte replacement
- Hormone-related therapy
- Immunotherapy and novel therapeutics
- IV hydration
- Therapeutic phlebotomy
