This month, Tahoe Forest Health System was approved for $120,000 in funding from the CalBridge Behavioral Health Navigator Program. CalBridge, also known as CA Bridge, supports emergency departments in becoming primary access points for the treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. With this grant, Tahoe Forest Hospital will be able to address substance use disorders as treatable medical emergencies by way of trained navigators, identifying patients who would benefit from initiating medication for addiction treatment and/or mental health services.
CA Bridge will provide access to materials, training, and technical assistance for navigators, clinicians, nurses, and other hospital staff. The TFHS Foundation is proud to play a role in championing this life-saving program, and thanks the CA Bridge team for investing in the healthcare needs of our community!
