The Tahoe Forest Health System will be installing a new 3 Tesla MRI in the Tahoe Forest Hospital in late 2022. This state of the art imaging equipment will benefit our Tahoe-Truckee community in many substantial ways.
The new scanner will encompass orthopedic, urologic, oncologic, and neurologic imaging. With its upgraded status, it will enhance surgical planning due to its dramatically improved image quality. Providing much faster imaging times with its efficiency – for instance, a 37 minute knee MRI will take only 7 minutes! – we will be able to serve more patients than ever before. And by giving local community members direct access to more sophisticated equipment, it will alleviate the need to travel out of the area for the same specialized service.
Because of this new technology, physicians and patients can be confident that Tahoe Forest Hospital will have unsurpassed MRI technology available right here in Truckee. Our not-for-profit, rural Health System continues to zero in on providing the most up-to-date equipment and advanced patient services to serve this region’s population.
