Welcome to the second edition of our new community e-newsletter! Tahoe Forest Health System (TFHS) has changed considerably over the past 74 years of service to our local families and visitors, with new services and programs added regularly to meet your changing healthcare needs. At TFHS, providing exceptional patient care is our top priority, and it’s the central focus of everything we do.
February is here and it’s National Heart Health Month, and every Friday we’re hosting a free community workshop to promote awareness of heart health. You’ll find details in this newsletter about this important topic, as well as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March which is right around the corner. We’re encouraging awareness of early screening for this cancer, which is preventable and treatable if caught early.
If you haven’t heard, we’re now accepting residents to our newly remodeled Long Term Care Center, which has been rated 5 stars by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Long Term Care is 24-hour skilled nursing care that’s available in a warm and friendly environment. I’d encourage you to contact us if you have a family member who may benefit from this valuable service.
There’s much more news to share with you just below. This e-newsletter is one more way to keep you informed of health care services offered right here in our community, created especially for you and your family.
With Warm Regards,
Harry Weis
President and Chief Executive Officer
