This past October, Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation asked you to join us in raising funds to replace our current mammography technology with Hologic 3D Mammography. 3D mammography improves the detection of invasive breast cancers by 40% and reduces callbacks as much as 41%. This new technology costs just under one million dollars ($940,032).
Tahoe Forest Hospital District has agreed to match the Foundation’s fundraising efforts 2 to 1, so with a lead gift of $204,743 from the Gene Upshaw Memorial Fund, the Foundation committed to raise the balance of $108,601 from our community to help fund this critical need! We are thrilled to announce that with the help of 122 generous donors and our lead gift, we exceeded this goal and have raised a total of $314,612 to support this effort.
There are few charitable giving opportunities whose consequences are as concrete and visible as a gift to hospital technology, especially one that will benefit literally thousands of lives for years to come. Thank you for investing in the health and well-being of your community! If you would like to schedule a Genius 3D Mammography™ exam, or have questions about this important breast health procedure, please contact our radiology department at (530) 582-6510.
