Dr. Segerstrom and his wife moved back to the Tahoe area in 2015. He had been with TFHS Emergency Departments from 2008 until the end of 2010, when they moved to the Santa Barbara area for 5 years. During their time there, he worked in a number of Emergency Departments and at UCSB Student Health. Prior to this, for several years he directed the Yosemite Medical Clinic, in addition to working in Emergency Departments in Santa Barbara and the Santa Inez Valley. They spent a year in Australia working for the government of Queensland at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef.
Dr. Segerstrom’s outside interests include travel, skiing, hiking with their dogs, mountain biking and yoga. More intellectual interests include art history, the history of medicine and history in general. His wife wife is a PA and they have done a few medical work trips, most recently at a clinic in the Bwindi National Park (home of the mountain gorillas) in Uganda. They are going to try to go back there next summer for a few weeks.
