Dr. Koch was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. Dr. Koch graduated from the University of Houston in 1979 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. She then attended medical school from 1980-1984 at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Koch completed her internship at the University of California Davis from 1984-1985, and went on to complete her residency at Merced Family Practice from 1985 to 1987.
In 1987, Dr. Koch began her family practice in Incline Village, Nevada, where she is still currently practicing. Dr. Koch became a board certified hospice and palliative care physician in 2007.
In addition to running her family practice, Dr. Koch is the medical director for two hospice agencies and helped to create the Palliative Care Team at the Tahoe Forest Gene Upshaw Cancer Center in 2019. Dr. Koch is currently the medical director for the Palliative Care Team and actively participates in overseeing patients’ care while they are receiving palliative care services.
