With appreciation, Louis Ward Interim CEO Tahoe Forest Health System

Greetings from Tahoe Forest Health System!

November brings us into a season of gratitude, and at Tahoe Forest Health System, we are thankful to be part of this wonderful community. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Health System. We celebrated with a community Festival and Fun Run on October 6th at the Truckee Regional Park and an Anniversary Gala on November 1st at the North Tahoe Event Center. Thank you to everyone who joined us at these events!

This month, we also take time to honor our Veterans. We are deeply grateful to all who have served and for your courage, sacrifice, and dedication to our nation. Thank you for your service.

As winter approaches, there’s an air of excitement as we look forward to another ski season. Let’s prioritize safety, both off and on the slopes, so that we can fully enjoy everything this season has to offer. However, we know injuries can and do happen, which is why Tahoe Forest Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has partnered with the HURT! App to connect you to an orthopedic specialist within minutes, around the clock. Read on to learn more.

Additionally, our sports medicine doctors in Incline are available for walk-in and same-day appointments, Monday through Thursday. For non-emergency injuries and illnesses, the Walk-in Clinic at IVCH is open each weekend, and our Urgent Care clinics in Truckee, Tahoe City, and Olympic Valley (starting Nov 23rd, weather dependent) are open every day of the week.

It is our privilege to serve the healthcare needs of this community, and I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving!

With Gratitude,

Louis Ward

In the Spotlight

This year is our 75th anniversary

Tahoe Forest Hospital is celebrating its 75th anniversary, reflecting on its journey from a small clinic to a critical healthcare provider for the Truckee-North Tahoe community.

Founded in 1949, following a land donation by Richard “Dick” Joseph after the tragic loss of his wife, the hospital opened in 1952. Over the decades, it expanded with new wings, an emergency department, and specialized services like the Gene Upshaw Memorial Cancer Center. The hospital honors its history of philanthropy and community support while looking forward to continuing its mission.

Kind Words

The team at Tahoe Forest PT in Tahoe City are awesome. They create a fun, friendly environment for patients to heal and build back strength and function. I’ve felt incredibly well cared for during my extended time in this clinic due to a complex, multi surgery knee recovery. Very thankful for this space and the treatment I receive.
