A Letter from Karli Epstein, Executive Director

As we gather and enjoy the sweet sunshine and summer activities, the IVCH Foundation celebrates the remarkable progress we have made together. Our hospital would not be the outstanding facility it is today without the unwavering support of this community, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you. We are dedicated to advancing comprehensive, compassionate care, and it is a privilege to work alongside you to achieve our goals.

As you take a few moments to explore our Summer Newsletter, we hope you will be impressed by our accomplishments as our excitement builds toward what the future holds. Highlights include the 3D Mammography Ribbon Cutting ceremony, the success of the Oral Health Improvement for Children program, and a wonderful evening shared with our physicians and donors. Get to know one of our IVCH employees who lives our values, save the date for the North Lake Tahoe Community Health Care Auxiliary’s Annual Golf from the Heart tournament, and learn about our Grateful Patient program. Lastly, we discuss our next endeavor: surgical services enhancement and the Tahoe Forest Health System 75th anniversary celebrations.

Our gratitude for your support knows no bounds. Your generosity has an extraordinary impact on our drive to achieve more. As we discover new opportunities to expand the scope and scale of services offered at IVCH, we look forward to continuing our shared pursuit of providing the best rural healthcare in the nation!

With gratitude,

Karli Epstein

IVCH 3D Mammography Ribbon Cutting

The Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation proudly hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the new 3D mammography equipment, marking a significant step in the hospital’s commitment to providing the highest standard of care.

Representatives from the IVCH Foundation, hospital administration, and esteemed donors stood together, united in their dedication to advancing healthcare. Executive Director Karli Epstein expressed gratitude, while Foundation Board member Julie Teel highlighted the unwavering support that made the acquisition of this state-of-the-art technology possible. TFHS Acting CEO and IVCH Administrator Louis Ward thanked the community for their dedication, not only to this project but also to all the hospital stands for, as we would not be here without the support of the community.

Guests enjoyed a tour of the new equipment, led by Shayna Vosburgh, Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, and Dr. Jeffrey Fountain, Radiologist. The event concluded with appetizers and refreshments from Chef Billy McCullough.

With the unveiling of the 3D mammography equipment, the IVCH Foundation, our committed donors, and the Helmsley Charitable Trust have enhanced the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and reaffirmed their commitment to the health and well-being of the community.

Oral Health Improvement for Children

As a part of the Incline Village Oral Health Improvement for Children initiative, the IVCH Foundation has utilized $120,000 in Oral Health Grant funding to provide ongoing dental services to our community’s students at school each year.

This April, in collaboration with dental students from Truckee Meadows Community College, 150 students enrolled in the initiative at Incline Elementary School received a free dental screening and fluoride varnish. Additionally in May, 20 students received dental sealants at Incline Elementary School, utilizing grant-funded portable dental equipment.

The sealants were applied by provider team Mark Rosenberg, DDS, MPH, and Julie Stage-Rosenberg, RDH, MPH. This year marked a significant milestone, as sealants were applied to children’s teeth free of charge and with minimum interruption to their school day for the first time. We are excited to continue the impactful work of the Oral Health Improvement program, ensuring that our community’s children receive essential dental care for years to come.

IVCH Donor and Physician Reception

In June, the IVCH Foundation brought together esteemed donors and IVCH physicians at Bowl Incline for an evening filled with family, fun, and community. During the event, we highlighted the Health System’s ambitious plans to increase access to top-quality healthcare on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore and took the opportunity to recognize the hard-working IVCH physicians who give so much to our community.

As we close the chapter on the Diagnostic Imaging Improvement project, we eagerly look toward the future and envision what this next era for Incline Village Community Hospital will bring.

We thank our donors for their steadfast support! Every dollar raised is fully invested in the programs and services designated by our donors. Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of stewarding your gifts and helping us to advance healthcare excellence.

A grateful patient honoree - TFHS - gifts of gratitude

Our Grateful Patient Program

Our beautiful Incline Village community provides a quality of life that is unmatched. One of the greatest draws for residents and visitors is their direct access to routine and emergency healthcare at the Incline Village Community Hospital.

The IVCH team provides expert medical care. As a result, patients frequently ask how they can thank their valued providers. The IVCH Foundation’s Grateful Patient Program gives them a way to share their appreciation, recognize caregivers, and thank staff for the support they or loved ones have received.

Supporting the IVCH Grateful Patient Program allows the Foundation, in conjunction with our administration, the opportunity to enhance patient services and expand state-of-the-art facilities. Nothing is more important than having access to the very best healthcare – right here in our own backyard.

If you are interested in sharing your Grateful Patient story or giving a gift in honor of the care you or a loved one have received, visit https://www.tfhd.com/ivch/giving/grateful-patient.

2024 Lakefront Reception

We came together in July, with over 150 guests, at the lakefront estate of one of our committed supporters Kern Schumacher. We highlighted the Health System’s plans for increasing access to top-quality healthcare on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore, including raising funds to enhance surgical services at Incline Village Community Hospital. Guests enjoyed a summer evening at the lake with appetizers from renowned Chef Billy McCullough and music by local band Dead Winter Carpenters.

Priorities in the expansion of healthcare services at IVCH are to complete a renovation of the original surgical procedure room, add an additional procedure room, upgrade the air filtration system, and increase data center capacity for entire facility. This project will increase surgical procedures offered, as well as continue to recruit talented surgeons to our area. This project is estimated to cost approximately $5 million and we have already raised $650,000 and counting!

If you would like to learn more about our surgical services enhancements, please feel free to reach out to Karli Epstein, Executive Director of the IVCH Foundation, at [email protected]. If you are interested in making a donation in support of this project, click here more for information.

We thank our donors for their steadfast support! 100% of every dollar raised is invested in the programs and services designated by the donors. Thank you for trusting us with the privilege of stewarding your gifts!
