Incline Village Community Hospital Adds Gastroenterology Services with Dr. James Nachiondo
Incline Village Community Hospital is pleased to announce that James M. Nachiondo, MD, has joined the team!
As a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist/hepatologist, Dr. Nachiondo provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, and is skilled in performing endoscopic procedures and colonoscopy exams. These services are now being offered at IVCH thanks to the completion of the Sterile Processing project, which was funded entirely by generous local community members. The Foundation is thrilled to have partnered with our donors to bring this service line to life, and improve access to local healthcare
Dr. Nachiondo attended medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology/hepatology fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Nachiondo is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
The offices of Dr. Nachiondo are located on the second floor of Incline Village Community Hospital at 880 Alder Ave, Incline Village. New patients are accepted. For appointments, please call (530) 582-6205.
The Beach Boys are Back
We are thrilled to announce that The Beach Boys with special guest John Stamos, will once again be hosting a Benefit Concert in support of Incline Village Community Hospital. All funds raised will be used to complete our Diagnostic Imaging project, and bring 3D Mammography right here to Incline Village. This year we will be recognizing community leaders and celebrating 25 years of Lake Tahoe School.
Currently, we are pre selling our Preferred and VIP packages!
- VIP Package: $25,000 per couple

Mammography Coming to IVCH
Just recently, the IVCH Foundation was awarded a grant of $1.9 million by The Helmsley Charitable Trust in support of 3D Mammography equipment for Incline Village Community Hospital. This endowment will cover not only the cost of the equipment, but also the renovation expenses surrounding this new service line at IVCH.
The TFHS Diagnostic Imaging Department recently recognized that approximately 4,400 females, ranging in age from 40 to 100, currently live in Incline Village and qualify for mammography screening services. Presently, accessing this care requires driving between 25-40 miles. In the not-too-distant future, however, this important diagnostic service will be available right here at IVCH! We thank The Helmsley Charitable Trust team for collaborating with the IVCH Foundation as our Hospital works toward providing this lifesaving service.
It is important to note that this Mammography grant was presented in addition to a separate, $1.8 million endowment received by the IVCH Foundation in 2022 from The Helmsley Charitable Trust. Resources to purchase a new, 128 slice CT Scanner and fixed X-Ray device for the Hospital were covered with this generous funding. Additionally, The Helmsley Charitable Trust presented $87,000 to secure point-of-care ultrasound equipment for IVCH.
The Helmsley Charitable Trust recently added Nevada as the eighth state in its Rural Healthcare Program, providing grants to help 10 Nevada hospitals purchase state-of-the-art diagnostic and radiology equipment. In the last decade, The Helmsley’s Rural Healthcare Program has provided over $500 million to organizations and initiatives aimed at improving healthcare for rural patients. It is a privilege for the IVCH Foundation team to collaborate with them to advance our Hospital’s local, lifesaving care.

Celebrating Our Physicians
IVCH doctors make a difference! For the third consecutive year, we recognized our physicians on March 30th – also known as National Doctors’ Day – by distributing Doctors’ Day Gratitude Grams on behalf of our grateful patients. This campaign has become a highly anticipated, very popular event! Celebrating local care is incredibly meaningful; for around the same price as a cup of specialty coffee, patients are given the opportunity to recognize their physicians while also supporting the Foundations’ fundraising efforts. 100% of every dollar donated elevates and enhances patient care. This year, proceeds equaled almost $7,000 toward the TFHS and IVCH Areas of Greatest Need!
Thank you for supporting our Health System’s mission: to provide the highest quality healthcare for those who live in and visit our rural mountain communities. It is an honor to share your words of gratitude with our clinicians!

The IVCH Team is a Work of Heart
Together, our team members help advance TFHS’s vision of supporting stronger, healthier communities. When they share their charitable contributions to further advance the care they help provide, it sends a powerful message: they believe deeply in our Health System’s lifesaving work.
Each year around this time, we launch our annual Team Member Giving campaign. This is an internal fundraising initiative designed specifically for our growing team. With the IVCH staff’s giving and input, the Foundation has been able to purchase several pieces of advanced equipment through the years. Most recently, Team Member Giving funds helped provide a GE Panda Baby Warmer for the Incline Village Community Hospital. Supporting lifesaving care for our smallest patients is crucial.
Hundreds of employees participate in the Foundation’s Team Member Giving Program. Read below to learn what inspired Elleri Holbrook, IVCH ER Unit Clerk, to become involved:
“Being able to give back to our community by supporting our team in multiple ways is rewarding because I know not only does it make a difference in the care we provide, but it also creates more opportunity and resources within the community.”
By sharing valued skills, professional dedication, and charitable gifts with the Health System, staff members like Elleri help provide critical resources and advance care. This benefits our patients, their families, your loved ones, and other employees. We are extraordinarily grateful for our staff’s commitment to your care!

The IVCH Foundation’s Annual Report Card
We take great pride in celebrating the Foundation’s annual accomplishments while also educating our communities about our important work. We are grateful for any opportunity to illustrate how the support of our donors helps IVCH provide essential care. With that, we are eager to share our 2022 Stewardship Report in this eNewsletter!
In this latest annual report, we will share impressive patient census data, tell you more about the innovative technology we are helping support, show you how your gifts are elevating patient care, and provide a brief overview of all the ways in which you can give.
Each year, we look forward to circulating this brochure within our communities – we hope you will be as excited as we are about our successes!
