A Letter from Karli Epstein, Executive Director
As the crisp autumn air settles in over Incline Village, I’m reminded of the warmth and generosity that continues to flow from this incredible community. Your steadfast support has been instrumental in helping us achieve remarkable advancements in health care in recent years.
In this edition, we invite you to join us in celebrating the 75th anniversary of Tahoe Forest Health System with the Fall Festival and Fun Run and 75th Anniversary Celebration and fundraiser. Many of you may remember Best of Tahoe Chefs, and we are so fortunate to have the chefs returning for Tahoe Forest Health System’s 75th Anniversary Celebration. Each chef will be paired with renowned wineries from California to provide a unique experience while raising vital funds for TFHSF Area of Greatest Need.
Also, we provide information about planned giving, opportunities for giving tomorrow, and how we are recognizing our major donors. Further, we share updates on one of our beloved employees who has made an impact on the Incline community. Lastly, we share heartwarming comments from the community and what our Center for Health is offering this community to encourage healthy living.
With your help, we’ve made strides in enhancing patient care and expanding services, ensuring that every resident and visitor to our beautiful town has access to the best medical care possible. Thank you for standing by our side; your contributions truly make a difference.
With gratitude,
Karli Epstein
Executive Director

Incline Village Community Hospital Staff Spotlight
Molly Sammelman
Our staff at Incline Village Community Hospital love getting to know their patients but here’s an opportunity to get to know the staff! This quarter, we are thrilled to spotlight Molly Sammelman, IVCH ER RN. Molly has 17 incredible years of experience as a nurse and you always know you are in good hands with her. One of her patient’s recently said, “Molly was so friendly and professional from triage to the next day with a follow up phone call.”
Her director, Ellen Bjorkman, and her manager, Sara Wojcik together said, “Molly consistently embodies the best version of herself, showing up each day with unwavering motivation and dedication to providing top-notch patient care in the IVCH Emergency Department – all while sporting a glowing smile. She has an uncanny ability to adapt to different teammates and patients on each shift, allowing her to leverage her strengths to uplift those around her. Affectionately dubbed “glitter reincarnate,” Molly radiates positivity that leaves a lasting impression on both colleagues and patients. Her infectious spirit and playful sense of humor are so vibrant – she generates a shared sentiment among everyone she encounters: Molly is truly someone we all wish we could clone. While cloning might be impossible, we are incredibly grateful that Molly is part of our team. Thank you for all that you do, Molly!”
When Molly isn’t working she treasures her adventures with her daughter, Fiona, around the lake. Fiona has a pet hamster named Cookie 2.0 that she enjoys caring for. Once day Molly dreams of visiting Bora Bora with her adventurous spirit! One fun fact about Molly is her favorite food is crab legs.
We are so lucky to have Molly on our team at Incline Village Community Hospital and we hope you enjoyed getting to know her more!
IVCH Donor Wall Updates
Our beautiful Incline Village community offers an unparalleled quality of life, and one of its greatest assets is the access to the exceptional health care provided by Incline Village Community Hospital. Thanks to the unwavering support of our donors, the hard work of the IVCH Foundation team, and generous grants, our hospital is equipped with some of the most advanced medical technology in the region, ensuring top-tier care for both residents and visitors.
In recognition of this incredible generosity, we proudly display our donors’ names in the hospital lobby. We are currently updating this display to reflect recent contributions. In the meantime, you can view an up-to-date listing of our major donors on our website. These contributions are essential in advancing access to care, upgrading technology, and expanding service lines. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who continue to support the health and well-being of our community!

Planned Giving
If you are interested in supporting the long-term vision for Incline Village Community Hospital, you can make a plan to give a gift to Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation in the future so we can continue our life-saving services for all of our community members.
There are numerous estate planning techniques available that can maximize your testamentary charitable gifting and mitigate tax exposure. Please consult your tax advisor or estate planner for more information about tax deductions for charitable donations. Meanwhile, you may also review a few of the options available.
A gift can be made by including a provision in your will or trust document. IVCH Foundation receives your gift after your passing, at which time your estate can take the income and estate tax deductions. This can even include donations of real property.
A charitable lead trust would pay IVCH Foundation for a certain number of years, and then the trust principal passes back to you, your family members, and other heirs. It can be an excellent estate planning vehicle of your own assets that you expect will substantially appreciate in value. It can help you keep an asset in the family while enjoying some tax benefits.
A charitable remainder trust is the mirror image of the charitable lead trust. Trust income is payable to you, your family members, or other heirs for a period of years, then the principal would come to IVCH Foundation. A charitable remaindser trust can be benefical becaue it provides you with a stream of current income.
Donors who notify the Foundation of their intention to include IVCHF in their will or trust are instated as an IVCHF Legacy Partner in Health member. The Foundation would like to thank and recognize (based on donor preference) supporters for their intention to give, while they are still living. If you plan to leave a gift to the Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation, please contact Karli Epstein, Executive Director, [email protected], or by calling (775) 888-4204.
Thank you for your interest in creating a legacy of commitment, which will help us ensure that our community hospital will remain sustainable and strong for generations to come!
What Our Community is Saying
We are always proud to share the positive recognition we receive for the way we care for our Emergency Room, Lakeside Family Medicine, and Incline Health Center patients:
“One of the best ER experiences I’ve had. The overall quality of the team is amazing. Their attentiveness, attention to detail and willingness to actively listen really makes a difference. Thank you.”
“My experience at the Incline physical therapy site has been excellent. From scheduling with ease, to the kindness extended upon arrival and with the expertise of the physical therapists. A definite 10+, thank you for investing in the very best to support the clients here in Incline.”
“Our son ended up in your facility the day before we were to fly back home to Florida from our family vacation. When we arrived at the facility, the staff quickly greeted us to assess our son’s situation and immediately brought him to a room where we were greeted by RN Joe. We cannot say enough good things about Joe, he was kind, knowledgeable, and most of all caring. We can also say the same for Dr. Andrews who made us feel at ease with his exceptional bedside manner. He was thorough to say the least, and quickly determined that our son needed to be transferred to another hospital for further treatment. In the brief amount of time that we spent in your facility, we were thoroughly impressed by everyone’s kindness, professionalism, knowledge, and compassion and we cannot thank you all enough for making an otherwise frightening situation a bit more comforting by the way you made us feel. Keep up the exceptional work and we are forever grateful for having met you all.”
