A Letter from Karli Epstein, Executive Director

After a busy – and very successful! – summer at the IVCH Foundation, crisp mornings and earlier sunsets tell us that autumn is on the way. We are filled with gratitude as we reflect on a summer filled with enormous fundraising accomplishments. But cooler days, teeming with the prospect of new opportunities, trigger excitement as well. Both are vital to our success, and neither would be possible without the support of our community.

As you scroll through our IVCH Foundation’s Summer 2023 eNewsletter, you will learn about the direct impact of dollars raised so far this year. We Know you will share in our delight about the resounding success of our July Beach Boys Benefit Concert, helping us move one step closer to our 3D Mammography fundraising goal. Read about an updated timeline regarding the projected completion of the Hospital’s 3D Mammography project. Learn more about becoming a Grateful Patient. Lastly, get better acquainted with our newest IVCH Foundation Board Director, Denise Seminetta.

The level of support we continue to receive helps us achieve big things – like bringing 3D Mammogram imaging to Incline Village! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to better serve our patients.

In gratitude,

Karli Epstein

Beach Boys Benefit Concert and Fundraiser!

“…I would like to see that my efforts, whether with the Beach Boys or as an individual, achieve as much benefit to humanity as possible during my lifetime.

– Mike Love

Thanks to members of The Beach Boys and special guest John Stamos, Mike Love’s pursuit of doing great things for humanity personally touched the Incline Village community! With the support of this iconic band, over 500 guests purchased tickets and generously donated money to make for a hugely successful IVCH Foundation 2023 Beach Boys Benefit Concert!

The TFHS Diagnostic Imaging Department recently shared that approximately 4400 females, ranging in age from 40 to 100, live in the Incline community and qualify for mammography screening services. With funds raised from this summer’s benefit concert, the Incline Village Community Hospital is now one step closer to completing a comprehensive Diagnostic Imaging project, supplementing a $1.09 million dollar equipment grant awarded by The Helmsley Charitable Trust. Now, instead of driving 25 to 40 miles to access 3D Mammography services, this lifesaving service line will soon be available right here in Incline Village!

The Foundation team is indebted to everyone who supported our fundraising event. You helped shape a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all who attended – we could not have done it without you!

IVCH Tour with Governor Lombardo

It was an honor to welcome Nevada Governor and First Lady Lombardo to the Incline Village Community Hospital for a site tour prior to their appearance at our Beach Boys Benefit Concert. Foundation and Administrative staff, along with several Foundation Board Directors, highlighted the significance of continued access to essential healthcare for rural Nevadans. Governor Lombardo is a strong proponent of guaranteeing that local healthcare continues to thrive in rural Nevada. Needless to say, he was very impressed with the extensive level of care provided at our small – but mighty – Hospital!

Update on the IVCH 3D Mammography Project

The IVCH 3D Mammography installation is under way! After being awarded a $1.9 million grant from The Helmsley Charitable Trust, the Health System worked quickly to designate space and start construction in an effort to implement this new service line at the Hospital as soon as possible.

Having local access to 3D Mammography is lifesaving. As opposed to a standard 2D Mammography, a 3D Mammography helps physicians detect small cancers and masses that may be hidden in dense breast tissue. This reduces the number of false positives that would require follow-up imaging. Early cancer detection is key to effective treatment and increased survival rates.

The goal is to have this project completed in early to mid-2024. We are extraordinarily grateful to The Helmsley Charitable Trust team and our incredible donor constituency. Bringing another lifesaving service to IVCH would not have been possible without their support!

Our Grateful Patient Program

Our beautiful Incline Village community provides a quality of life that is comparable to few. One of the greatest draws for residents and visitors is their direct access to routine and emergency healthcare at the Incline Village Community Hospital.

The IVCH team provides expert medical care. As a result, patients frequently ask how they can thank their valued providers. The IVCH Foundation’s Grateful Patient Program gives them a way to share their appreciation, recognize caregivers, and thank staff for the support they or a loved one has received.

Supporting the IVCH Grateful Patient Program allows the Foundation, in conjunction with our Administration, the opportunity to enhance patient services and expand state-of-the-art facilities. Nothing is more important than access to the very best in healthcare – right here, in our own backyard.

If you are interested in sharing your Grateful Patient story or giving a gift in honor of the care you or a loved have received, visit our Grateful Patient webpage.
