Area of greatest need
When you designate your gift to the “Area of Greatest Need,” the Foundation Board of Director’s will direct your gift to where the Hospital’s most significant need is at the time. In our undertaking to offer the best possible patient care experience having state-of-the-art technology and diagnostic equipment is a vital necessity. This year, the Foundation Board of Directors has approved the use of private philanthropic support to upgrade technology and procure medical equipment that has been prioritized as critical for hospital operations and our mission of providing the highest quality health care in our rural mountain home.
Emergency services
IVCH is the only hospital on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. The next nearest hospital is over 25 miles away and requires traveling on roads that can be dangerous or even closed during winter months. When seconds count, distance matters. The IVCH Emergency Room is a full service emergency department that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each year, over 4,000 patients receive critical care at the IVCH ER. Gifts designated to the Emergency Department directly supports equipment and supply needs that are essential for the department’s lifesaving efforts.
Foundation endowment
The hospital’s endowment provides a permanent source of funding for the future health care needs of our community. Gifts to the endowment create a legacy of commitment and ensure that our community hospital will remain sustainable and strong for generations to come. The IVCHF Endowment Fund is currently held at the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation.
