3T MRI Machine

The Foundation Supports Tahoe Forest Hospital’s New 3T MRI

Last year, our TFHS Foundation Board of Directors approved $500,000 of Area of Greatest Need funds to support the purchase and installation of a piece of highly advanced diagnostic equipment – the 3T MRI! Revolutionary imaging services give our clinicians the opportunity to provide more detailed, timely diagnoses.

After a complex installation and calibration process, our TFH Diagnostic Imaging Department is now delivering exceptional MRI studies. With a larger bore and quicker imaging capabilities, this sophisticated machine offers not only greater comfort, but helps our physicians serve a greater number of patients as well.

The visible impact of donor gifts is apparent in equipment such as the 3T MRI, providing patient services typically available only in larger, urban areas. Targeted care, available right here at home, is a priceless investment. We thank our supporters for helping make this happen!

If you would like to give a gift to our Area of Greatest Need, which support projects such as the 3T MRI, visit www.tfhd.com/giving for additional information.

Celebrating Our Physicians

TFHS doctors make a difference! For the third consecutive year, we recognized our physicians on March 30th – also known as National Doctors’ Day – by distributing Doctors’ Day Gratitude Grams on behalf of our grateful patients. This campaign has become a highly anticipated, very popular event! Celebrating local care is incredibly meaningful; for around the same price as a specialty coffee, patients are given the opportunity to recognize their physicians while supporting the Foundations’ fundraising efforts. 100% of every dollar donated elevates and enhances patient care. This year, proceeds equaled almost $7,000 toward the TFHS and IVCH Areas of Greatest Need!

Thank you for supporting our Health System’s mission: to provide the highest quality healthcare for those who live in and visit our rural mountain communities. It is an honor to share your words of gratitude with our clinicians.

You can honor your providers year-round by becoming a Grateful Patient! Visit www.tfhd.com/giving and click on Grateful Patient to find the giving link.

Our team is a work of heart. TFHS team member giving.

The TFHS Team is a Work of Heart

Together, our team members help advance TFHS’s vision of supporting stronger, healthier communities. When they share their charitable contributions to further advance the care they help provide, it sends a powerful message: they believe deeply in our Health System’s lifesaving work.

Each year around this time, we launch our annual Team Member Giving campaign. This is an internal fundraising initiative designed specifically for our growing team. With the TFHS staff’s giving and input, the Foundation has been able to purchase several pieces of advanced equipment through the years. Most recently, Team Member Giving funds helped provide a GE Panda Baby Warmer for the Tahoe Forest Hospital. Supporting lifesaving care for our smallest patients is crucial.

Hundreds of employees participate in the Foundation’s Team Member Giving Program. Read below to learn what inspired Denise Bowness, Clinical Manager of the TFHS Fitness Center, to become involved:

“It is important for me to participate in Team Member Giving! Tahoe Forest does so many great things for our community, and provides the ability to stay in our community without having to leave the area to receive great care. It makes me feel good to be a part of Tahoe Forest and this program. I really appreciate the opportunity to contribute.”

By sharing valued skills, professional dedication, and charitable gifts with the Health System, staff members like Denise help provide critical resources that advance care. This benefits our patients, their families, your loved ones, and other employees. We are extraordinarily grateful for our staff’s commitment to your care!

What Our Community is Saying

We are always proud to share some of the positive recognition we receive from patients, honoring the compassionate care provided at Tahoe Forest Health System!

“I have nothing but very positive things to say about my entire experience at the Cancer Center, from when I was first diagnosed right up to the present. The entire team – from reception to infusion and Dr. Kaime to all of the supporting staff – has been exceptional!”

“Kindness and understanding was clear through all the staff at Tahoe Forest Hospital. I would recommend this hospital to friends.”

“Excellent communication and genuine care for me and my questions.”

“Dr. Rosengreen actually took the time to establish a connection with my son in order to gain his trust and reduce his fear. It made all the difference in the world. That extra minute or two to connect with a child is well spent, and results in much better treatment outcomes.”

“I do not know all of their names, but the nurses who took care of me in the morning and at night did an excellent job. Practitioners and technicians, too. I want to recognize them for their kindness, good attitude, and professional knowledge. Thank you so much, EVERYONE!”

“My entire experience was totally positive. I understood what was to occur, how the procedure was to be conducted, and what to expect as an outcome. Post-surgery care was very comforting and follow up with the doctor was thorough.”

“Access to care is always easy, friendly, and with great communication. They are very helpful. I can schedule multiple appointments with multiple providers at once. Coming from the Bay Area, the customer service is top notch!”
