Community Health Advocate

As a Tahoe Forest Health System Community Health Advocate, Reyna serves as a liaison between community members, Tahoe Forest Health System and local organizations and agencies. Reyna is bilingual and understands the challenges Hispanic and Non-Hispanic community members experience in navigating the broader health care system and life challenges. She comes into the position with experience teaching living skills to disabled adult populations, as well as helping victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.

The goal of the Community Health Advocate is to help community members experience fewer barriers in accessing health services, resources and information. Reyna works closely with Sierra Community House and other local agencies and organizes educational programming such as Stanford’s Chronic Disease Self Management Program, grief workshops and community outreach events.
