Incline Village Community Hospital Receives its Largest Charitable Gift in its History from the Helmsley Charitable Trust
Tahoe Forest Health System is proud to announce that the Incline Village Community Hospital was named a recipient of the Helmsley Charitable Trust’s rural healthcare grants. The Helmsley’s Rural Healthcare Program grant is the largest charitable gift made to the hospital and to the Health System.
The Helmsley Charitable Trust recently added Nevada as the eighth state in its Rural Healthcare Program, providing more than $11.3 million in grants to help 10 Nevada hospitals purchase state-of-the-art diagnostic and radiology equipment and expand simulation-based training. Of the $11.3 million, the Incline Village Community Hospital was gifted $1.8 million for purchase of a computer tomography (CT) scanner, fixed x-ray device and related costs. The advanced equipment produce higher quality images, allowing for improved health status assessments and proper course of treatments.
“We are very excited and grateful to be receiving the largest charitable gift ever to be made to our Northern Nevada hospital from the Helmsley Charitable Trust,” says Harry Weis, President and CEO of Tahoe Forest Health System. “This gift gives us the opportunity to improve our healthcare delivery to our Incline Village and North Lake Tahoe communities by providing access to the same state-of-the-art technology typically found in urban centers,” he added.
In the last decade, The Helmsley’s Rural Healthcare Program has provided over $500 million to organizations and initiatives aimed at improving healthcare for rural patients. For more information on the grant efforts of the Helmsley Charitable Trust, visit www.helmsleytrust.org.
