8:00 a.m. Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga - Yin Yoga is the softer side, the balance to the intense, heat building, sweaty, strengthening "yang" of a Vinyasa or faster moving practice. Yin Yoga focuses on connective tissues, as well as lengthening muscles around the hips, pelvis and back. In this class students hold passive poses for 3-5 minutes and focus on movement and creating circulation in between the poses. Holding poses for a length of time helps to restore elasticity to connective tissues that diminishes with age and physical activity. Due to slower pace of a Yin practice, it will restore energy and calm the nervous system, another wonderful benefit.
